The National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) is on a mission to increase the number of culturally responsible Black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the community. It supports and promotes the aspirations of collegiate and pre-collegiate students and technical professionals in engineering and technology.

Student members
NSBE Jr membership is available to all students in grades 6-12 for only $5. A NSBE Jr membership provides several benefits including: eligibilty for scholarships; resources to prepare college admission tests and applications; access to mentors, tutors, and leadership develoopment; and opportunities to participate in competitions, converences, and chapter events. NSBE also offers college student and professional memberships.
Scholarships
NSBE distributes tens of thousands of dollars in scholarships each year to NSBE and NSBE Jr. members. Information is available through the NSBE website and local NSBE chapters.
Other opportunities
NSBE supports several programs to interest and support K-12 students in pursuit of careers in engineering and technology careers. Programs and competitions are offered to all pre-college, undergraduate student, graduate student and technical professional members in the areas of Academic Excellence, Technical Excellence, Professional Development, Leadership Development, Entrepreneurship, Community Service and Pre-college outreach.

Summer Engineering Experience for Kids (SEEK) is a free, three-week summer program that offers a fun and engaging educational experience for students in grades 3-5.
