What I Do I am currently a PhD student and Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Colorado Boulder (and yes, I get paid to go to school!). My degree focus is in Air Quality and Education. I am also an intern with the Denver Department of Public Health in the Air Quality group.
Why Engineering? I've always enjoyed math/science and problem solving. And I wanted to pursue a career where I could work to improving people's health and well-being and towards a more sustainable future.
School Days I have a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Olin College of Engineering in Massachusetts. I am currently working on my PhD in Environmental Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder.
My Day At Work I get to learn something new everyday! For research, I collect data in the lab or out in the community and do data analysis to understand the sources of emissions and how to mitigate those sources.
Best Part I enjoy solving problems and helping people. I love knowing that my work is making people healthier and safer.
Dreams and Goals I would love to work with government as a scientist/engineer to develop environmental policy. I want to decrease the environmental burden felt by environmental justice communities while helping to develop sustainable solutions to environmental challenges in cities.
Hobbies I love to hike, draw, sew, and cook. I'm also a beekeeper and am growing spicy peppers from seeds!
