Close Up
  • What I Do

I am a systems engineer for Collins Aerospace. I work with a team to develop disruptive technologies to assist future warfighters in managing increasingly complex missions. I am responsible for establishing design strategies, conducting technology assessments, and establishing market needs and performance objectives. The technologies that I develop include software or hardware that pilots would see in the cockpit and would utilize to help execute their mission.

  • Why Engineering?

I chose to pursue a career in engineering because I am passionate about aerospace, I like to solve complex problems, and I like to engage with customers. I knew that as an engineer I would have the opportunity to develop technologies to help others and make a positive impact on the world. I love getting to meet with customer, understand their challenges, and work with teams to develop new products to solve their problems.

  • School Days

I graduated from Purdue University with a B.S. in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering. I am currently pursuing my M.S. in Systems Engineering at Johns Hopkins University.

  • Best Part

My favorite part of being an engineer is being able to solve complex problems and work with people from all over the world.

  • Want to be an Engineer?

I would advise all prospective engineers to be creative, humble, and results-oriented. I think it is important for aspiring engineers to develop exemplary verbal and written skills, so that you can describe complex concepts in a simple and intuitive manner. I would also encourage all aspiring engineers to never be afraid to ask a question or ask for help. By asking questions and engaging with other you can continue to learn, grow, and develop new skills.

Volunteer Opportunities
  • I am willing to be contacted by educators for possible speaking engagements in schools or in after school programs or summer camps.
  • I am willing to serve as a sponsor or coach for an engineering club or team.
  • I am willing to serve as science fair judge or other temporary volunteer at a local school.
  • I am willing to be interviewed by interested students via email.
