38 years old mom wanting to go back to school biomedical engineering.

Hi, I'm 38 years old mom, and 15 years ago I graduated as an industrial ingineer in my home country, Colombia. I never worked as an engineer, move to the USA and have been working as a personal trainer( it is a complex to explain). I would like to go back to school for biomedical engineering. I'm concern if this is too late for me to start all over again, also the financial aspect and balancing my reponsability as a mother. Is this too late?

Mary, If you have truly determined that going back to school is your best course of action for achieving your goals then of course you should try and make it happen. It is NEVER too late! That said, it's hard to answer without knowing your goals. I always counsel that you should focus on what you want to DO, not what you want to BE. Biomedical engineering is very broad and just going back to school won't get you a job doing something you love. If you think just getting more schooling will help you to figure that out, I would suggest that instead you find the job you'd like to do and start doing it w/o the degree and get the degree along the way if you still need it. Hope that helps!
