Communication is Important

We must work together in my department as a team in order to deliver contract documents, which can consist of hundreds of drawing sheets and requires coordination between many engineering disciplines. Communication is key. We must also be in constant contact with the client, and any subconsultants that may be on our project team. As a woman, I've certainly experienced frustration when a misunderstanding occurs. I've learned that it is better to process a question over a day or two, and then respond (whether verbally or in writing/email). I find that when you rush to answer a question (as in instant email reply) you can cause more problems than you can solve. Take your time, think things through, and gather feedback from people you trust and respect.
