What I Do I research water infrastructure. I study water infrastructure through a sociotechnical systems lens to improve the delivery of safe and reliable water services. I am interested in the technical performance of water infrastructure when these systems operate in contexts that no longer align with the system’s original, intended operating environment. I teach the next generation of engineers. I get the opportunity to be in the classroom, teaching and learning from tomorrow's leaders.
Why Engineering? I chose engineering for the immense impact engineering has on our society--it truly changes the world.
School Days I went to the University of Washington for my Bachelor's in Civil Engineering. I then went to Purdue University for my Master's in Civil Engineering, Master's in Industrial Engineering, and PhD in Civil Engineering.
Best Part The best part of being an engineer is building the world around us to make real impact and improve critical infrastructure services for communities worldwide.
Inspiration My mom. She is the strongest woman I know. She made sure that I knew that there was nothing a girl could not accomplish.
