Shane asked Marta Miletic, San Diego State University AddedWednesday, May 5, 2021 at 4:18 AM How do I overcome self doubt as a female Civil Engineer? I am working as a site engineer however there are times where I doubt if I am really destined to be a civil engineer. Am I in the right path as I am working in the contractor side. In terms of work ethics I do not like the advice that because I work in the contractor side I should always think of the profit of the company that being said plans aren't being totally followed. As an engineer I don't want how we are operating. There is this project coordinator of our company who is not an engineer but somehow experienced in construction told me that I should just monitor the works and I should not give instruction to the workers anymore. I began to question myself if I really fit in this field. As much as I enjoy working with the workers and I get to know them maybe I am not an efficient and effective engineer. I dont know what to do anymore.
