  • What I Do

I am a lead Quality Assurance engineer who works for the Verizon consumer group. I am responsible for leading and guiding the testing team until the products are released bug-free to the market with great customer experiences.

  • Why Engineering?

I chose to be an engineer because I felt  it was cool to learn and do engineering stuff.
I chose to be an engineer because I felt it was cool to learn and do engineering stuff. The computer industry is maturing more, and you get lots of opportunities to learn new areas.

  • School Days

I earned an Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering degree from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka

  • My Day At Work

*Daily Touch Point call with my team every morning
*Project related meetings and analyze impacts .
*Attending grooming calls with all project partners
*Checking dashboards and follow up on pending items
*Send status reports and respond to emails

  • Best Part

Many job opportunities with good salaries  and do hands on work to make impact on the world.

  • Proud Moments

I started my carrier  from a small department of seven members, and through my learning and experiences  now I can serve as a team lead for a well-reputed company

  • Challenges

When I chose to do my Electronic Engineering degree, I was the only female student in my batch, with the rest were all boys. I was nervous without motivation for the first few months as it was an odd feeling with guys who have different interests, which were not fascinating to me and I missed hanging out and fun time with my girlfriends. Eventually, I was able to find common interests and study groups with those boys and maintain good relationships. My initial assumption was wrong that I thought boys are better in Engineering stuff, but it was wrong. I achieved the best results and won the highest score with colors(who achieved colors in sports) in my first year. When I looked back, all the challenges I went through were temporary, and now I am so proud that I achieved big and helped others in many ways.

  • My Family

I grew up in a family of seven, where I am the eldest of five siblings. Now I am married and have three kids. One is a high schooler, and the other two are middle schoolers . They love hearing my stories back in college sometimes, which feels exciting and  funny to them .Of course, my youngest members are two loving cats

  • Dreams and Goals

Short term goal : I started my Master's degree in Business Administration and planning to finish in three years. It will give me lots of learning and get mature in the industry and get promotions to the next level
Long-term goal: I would like to help the community and do lots of volunteering to help young kids who would like to achieve significant and support senior adults in enjoying their lives.

  • Inspiration

My dad is a great inspiration to me. He was a middle school teacher who was always busy with his school students or at home.  And still, he found time to do some farming as a hobby and help others without expecting anything in return. He is a great role model until today to do many things in the same time slot that everyone has. My dad gave me enough freedom to choose my pathways and guided me whatever I decided, but he was confident that I was picking things wisely with proper analysis that he liked me to do. So I had a big responsibility to make the right decisions wisely.

  • Want to be an Engineer?

Dream big but take one small step at a time. Things will not come to you right away, but if you follow your dream without giving up, you will be a winner one day without any doubt. And you will enjoy the path you have come a long way with all ups and downs. There is no right or wrong decision, but you would need to be happy with what you do regardless of what others choose. Never let any one put you down; all are equally capable of pursuing your dreams as engineers. There can be many distractions in your journey, but please remember your goals always to be a winner.

  • Hobbies

I like nature waking, taking pictures, and create memories of photo journals.
Also, I love animals; my two cats are great companions to me when I am at home. I love playing with them.
