Hi,I am going to city tech as a freshmen...my physics is not so good but I love maths.....i knew that there are less women who persue this feild......i think there are less chances for women's to get hired then men....also my physics is weak.....i want to work at jetblue or in military air force....should I reconsider? One of the reasons that there's less females in the field is simply because not as many females pursue that field -- it's not that they're less likely to be hired. If you truly think you're interested in a career at jetblue or in the air force, you should pursue the major you want and just be prepared to work harder at the areas you don't understand. I'm a recent graduate in mechanical engineering: a major with very low female representation. I no longer use physics on a day to day basis for my full time job and when I do, there's numerous programs/tools that I utilize to help me with the more complicated calculations. Focusing on the theory of physics and being able to use it to think through real life problems will be helpful but it's something you can use friends/professors to get a better understanding of. In any career, you'll also receive more specialized training from the company and a willingness to learn will be more important than being good at every engineering related topic. I hope that answered your question, feel free to reach out.
