Close Up
  • What I Do

I oversee and manage several different types of engineering and construction projects including roads, utilities, sites, stormwater treatment systems, water and wastewater treatment plants and more.

  • Why Engineering?

I chose engineering because I like variety and I like challenges. I was in awe of big bridges, beautiful engineered landscapes and complex structures like dams. I also wanted to help protect the environment. Civil engineering was the go-to career for me because all of my interests are in one.

  • School Days

I went to Norwich University in Vermont. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Civil & Environmental Engineering. I also went back to Norwich to complete my Masters in Business Administration with a concentration in project management.

  • Best Part

I love the variety and the different problems that need to be solved each day. No two days are the same!

  • Proud Moments

<p>I was so proud to get my bachelors degree and MBA. So much time and effort was expended but it was all worth it! I'm the first person in my immediate family that got a college degree. That's something I'm proud of.

  • Challenges

I've encountered some challenges in this field primarily by being a female. Those days are hard but I have to remind myself that I'm just as qualified as them to do this job that I love. I'm not going to let someone put me down.

  • Want to be an Engineer?

Don't let anyone tell you that you can't do something. If you feel strongly about pursuing something, don't stop if someone doubts you. Be proud of good grades and accomplishments!

  • Hobbies

I love reading, I have a large bookcase with all different kinds of books. When I'm not reading, I love being outdoors. I bring my dog, Bailey, camping and hiking whenever I can. She's active just like me.
