Computer or software engineer?

I'm in 7th grade, and I have FINALLY decided what I want to be- a computer engineer. But I suppose there is a difference between Computer and Software Engineers? What is the difference?

Great question! Yes there is a difference. Generally software engineers focus on application-level software while computer engineers focus on firmware and/or hardware design. I'm a software engineer with a degrees in computer science and mathematics and I have written enterprise software (front- and back-end) for the telecommunication, finance, e-commerce and now pharmacy industries. I never touch the hardware my software My sister has a degree in computer and electrical engineering and has designed hardware and written firmware for storage enclosures and now medical devices. There is so much you can do with either focus! Good luck!
