I'm about to start my second year in engineering but I'm still worried I've chosen the wrong career path. I love maths and exams are not a problem for me, but I get super stressed and unsure when it comes to design projects. I do like working with my hands but I'm just not sure if engineering is for me. I'm thinking of transferring to maths or data science but I want to know that my work is making a difference somewhere, and I'm not sure if I would get that satisfaction from maths. Do ...

Hi I am studying mechanical engineering in Monash. I have been suffering from kidney stones all the year round and hence my cgpa has suffered but its only 2.8-3 outta a four where my fellow peers have significantly higher ones. Can I explain that to my future prospective employer giving as reason I was sick? I have been told that the number of internship can change my career outlook and increase prospects. Is this true? Is it a must that I should intern only in my field or dabble in various ...

    Hi Sura,

If you want to be a great mechatronics engineer, start doing projects outside of your normal class now.  Mechanical engineering - Pull things apart and learn how they work, create your own simple robots from scratch by experimenting with ...

Hi, I just got done with my entrance exam and I'm in a dilemma. I need to choose my UG course. Options are either mechatronics or electrical and electronics. You've been asked exactly the same question once before.. What I would like to know is the scope in both the fields. I don't have any plans to work in my UG field, instead simply acquire an MBA degree 2-3 years after my UG. I would like to know, from the two mentioned branches, which is the right choice keeping the scope, job opportunity ...

If you don't plan on working in the field, and your most important factors are scope, job opportunity and money factor, I would say go with electrical and electronics engineering.  Mechatronics gives you a broader range of knowledge across ...

Hi there. I just want to know how I can change girls' minds about us being the same as boys. Most girls in my class think that boys are better than us. I want to be an engineer, but most people say that mechatronics engineering is only for boys and is too difficult. How can I shut them up?!!

I'm female and I studied mechatronics engineering and computer science at University from 2007 - 2013.  There were 5 girls in my course, out of 50.  So mechatronics engineering is not only for boys, and girls can do it, too!  In 2008 I ...

Hi, I was wondering what is mechanical engineering and what they do? I am considering becoming a mechanical engineer after I become a computer programmer. Also does computer programming help in mechanical engineering? Does taking the International Baccalaureate program help in the engineering field? Also I am entering highschool and am going to be taking the IB program.
