    Hi Sara!
I'm so sorry for the late response. Congratulations on your recent graduation! Welcome to the field. As a new engineer, you have so many wonderful skills that us veterans may have forgotten. In my opinion, the three greatest attributes as a new engineer are as follows:

    1) Curiosity/Drive to learn: As a recent college graduate, you are accustomed to learning. You may feel like you no longer wish to take classes; this is normal! However, your learning skills are acutely fine-tuned right now. This is an excellent time to be starting a new career. You are like a fresh sponge, ready to absorb everything. Once established within your career, it is still incredibly important to learn new things. This is a skill you should try and keep!

    2) Ability to ask questions: Please do not forget to ask questions. Early on in my career, there are several times that I wished I asked for help. Do as I say, not as I do. Help is there for you.

    3) Critical problem solving: More good news! As a recent graduate, you have SO much experience working on problem solving. As annoying as that homework may have been, it has given you a lot of relevant experience that you can apply in your first job. You may even bring a fresh perspective to your team.

These are all skills that do not require previous career experience. These are skills that you will have picked up in your time at school.

Good luck as you transition from school to the workforce!
