Engineers!
I am Irish and graduated with a Bachelors degree in Electronic Engineering from university in Ireland. I now live and work in England, UK. I work with Network Rail, who own and operate Britain’s rail infrastructure. I originally joined through the engineering graduate scheme in 2005 and am now a Telecoms Project Engineer where I manage the engineering elements of Telecoms renewals and major infrastructure investment projects. I work on all elements of railway telecoms - this includes equipment at stations such as CCTV and PA and systems used in the running of trains (like telephones, cabling and radio systems) so I get lots of variation and am always learning more about the different technologies. I also get to meet and work with lots of different people and in different places around the country. I love being an engineer! One of my most challenging projects so far was being the principle engineer on the renewal of a PA and fire evacuation system in a major London station. In my spare time I enjoy crafts including knitting and cake decorating. I also enjoy reading and making jigsaws. http://www.networkrail.co.uk/careers/?cd=1
