What I Do I am a scientist and engineer at Chevron, working on energy - generating renewable fuels from biomass or food waste - to help people and protect our planet. Every day, I think about big questions like, "How can we make energy better, cheaper and ever cleaner?" I work with teams of other scientists to run experiments and develop new ideas.
Why Engineering? I chose STEM because I've always been curious about how the world works. I wanted to know things like how cars move or how plants do photosynthesis. STEM lets me ask those questions, find answers, and create new solutions to help people.
Best Part What I like the best about my career is to work with so many talented people and great minds to generate new ideas, scale up the technologies and implement new solutions to our daily life.
Want to be an Engineer? Stay curious and never stop asking questions! There is no dumb question. Even if something seems hard, keep going - you will learn more than you ever thought you could. Also, connect with people who inspire you and don't be afraid to ask them for mentorship or help.
Hobbies At the time not doing research, I write children's book (The Hidden World of Elements-daily chemistry seek-and-find) and screen scripts for cartoon movies (Frog Kingdom 3).
