Close Up
  • What I Do

I work as an aerospace systems engineer at NASA Ames. My team designs and builds Cubesats for missions in Low Earth Orbit and jettisoned from the International Space Station.

  • School Days

I went to three different universities: Catholic University of Lille-France, University of Paris-Saclay in France, and San Jose State University in California.
I have a master's degree in Aerospace Engineering and two bachelors in Systems Engineering and Engineering Science.

  • Best Part

As engineers, we are pieces of a puzzle that intend to improve the quality of life.

  • Proud Moments

My graduation was full of emotion since I was the last girl to graduate from college. I still remember the look of my proud parents. My dream job was at NASA in about 10 years but I was hired before completing my master's degree from SJSU. It's a reminder that no matter how 'crazy' your dreams seem to be, you can achieve them.

  • Challenges

I had to learn English in only one semester before starting my aerospace engineering program. After an accident in 2008, I ended up quadriplegic but I was able to recover in a couple of months. This event was the starting point of my ambitions. Since I survived, the best I can do is to TRY.

  • My Family

I am part of a loving and caring Cameroonian family. I have two older sisters who live in Paris and Douala. My nephews are one of my multiple blessings. I live in California with my husband.

  • Inspiration

I used to ask my dad what time he planned to stop working and his succinct answer shaped my career. He responded: I am going to bed in 3 folders. He never gave me an exact time since he would only stop after completing his tasks. Resilience and hard work are more valuable in your path to success than talent. My mom taught me to always be kind to people and aspire to make a difference in their lives.

  • Want to be an Engineer?

Cherish and protect your dream until you achieve your goals. At the beginning, Engineering can be intimidating for young women but a good mentor can give the required confidence to face the challenges. In a nutshell, if you think you can do it you are right but you only need the courage to reach out and ask for guidance.

  • Hobbies

My first happy place is my tennis club. I enjoy playing tennis with my friends right after work or during long hours on weekends. My second heaven on earth is my kitchen. I love cooking for my husband and close friends.

Volunteer Opportunities
  • I am willing to be contacted by educators for possible speaking engagements in schools or in after school programs or summer camps.
  • I am willing to be interviewed by interested students via email.
