How Do Chemical and Material Engineers work in the fields of Environment and Sustainability?

Hi, I'm a high schooler who recently reconnected with my passion for engineering and entrepreneurship while considering what careers I am passionate about and would feel fulfilled pursuing. However, considering the breadth of possibilities in the field, I have difficulty seeing how engineering education translates to specific tasks in the workforce. I have interests in hands-on activities, health, conservation/the environment, and I don't want to be stuck in a monotonous or stressful position (though I still appreciate rigor and innovation to help others).
