What I Do I am currently a Central Office Engineer who is responsible for the engineering and installing the Core Telecommunications Network.
Why Engineering? I enjoy figuring things out. I love exploring the whys and hows of everything. I believe there is something deeper whether it be environment issues or a craft project.
School Days I graduated from the oldest All-girl public high school in Baltimore. I went to a HBCU, Morgan State to obtain an Bachelors in Electrical Engineering. Finally, I obtained a Masters degree in Telecom Management from Stevens Institute.
Challenges The field is male dominated. You must speak up, use your voice and intelligence to be seen and appreciated.
Want to be an Engineer? Don't ever give up when things get tough. Do the work, research and put in effort. Work your network.. friends, associates, family. Be resourceful, you'll never know or have all the answers but know who and where to get them.
