What I Do I work in the Telecommunications field. I am responsible for all NY State Licensing of pole attachments and conduit occupancy requests from 3rd Party CLECs to Verizon.
Why Engineering? Math and Science were my favorite subjects in school, engineering explains many things that we encounter in life.
My Day At Work Receiving application plans, processing applications, reviewing survey results and designs, approving applications.
Best Part Engineering solves many problems in this world, and team work is essential in engineering. You need many departments to cooperate to achieve goals.
Challenges While in school, engineering majors are secluded group, we design, we construct, but we didn't really have experience in explaining our ideas and solutions to other groups. That was my toughest obstacle when I started working, but with the support of my mentor and the team, I am now much better at communicating to others, which ensures the success of my group.
My Family I am married with two children. My husband is a business man who loves fishing. My daughter is a senior at Binghamton University, studying Biomedical Engineering. My son is a sophomore in high school, I believe he will go into either Engineering or Computer Programming.
Dreams and Goals My short term goal is to train someone to know my functions, my long term goal is to become a Principal Engineer and retire at age 60.
Inspiration My parents had the greatest influence. My mom was a electrical engineer and my dad was a mechanical engineer.
Want to be an Engineer? Focus, always have a plan and a goal. Prepare for your lessons, have faith in yourself.
