Student members
ASME offers student memberships to college/university students for a minor fee. First-year freshman students can apply for a free limited membership. Many universities have local activities and events for ASME members.
Scholarships
ASME offers scholarships to high school students accepted and enrolled full-time in an ABET-accredited school for the entire following academic year (starting in the fall). The application submission period is open from early December to mid-March. Scholarships are also available to undergraduate and graduate students.
Other opportunities
ASME supports several team competitions for undergraduate and graduate students. Students have to be ASME members to participate.
INSPIRE
ASME INSPIRE Career Exploration is an in-class, online experience, championing student exploration of real-world engineering and technical careers, while helping students gain application STEM-related skills. This program is offered free to schools through the ASME Foundation.
