Sam asked Shruti Pai, VA Center of Excellence for Limb Loss Prevention and Prosthetic Engineering AddedMonday, October 5, 2020 at 2:36 PM Are college classes similar to what it's like to work as a biomedical engineer? Hi I???m a sophomore in college majoring in biomedical engineering and struggling to decide if it???s the right path for me. I???m currently in my first semester as a sophomore in biomedical engineering and classes are online right now. I???m struggling with online classes and I???m struggling with whether I would be doing better if classes were in person or if I would be doing worse. I have an interest in biomedical engineering but I don???t really find physics or statics interesting. I also feel like if I continue I will continue to struggle and end up not enjoying it. Are the classes we take very similar to what it is like to actually work as a biomedical engineer or is it different? Also how much knowledge from classes is used in your real life job? I thought about switching my major but I???m not really interested in anything else because I love the medical field but don???t want to be a nurse or doctor and have actual patients.
