Join the Gallery
The EngineerGirl Gallery of Women Engineers provides role models for young girls thinking about engineering careers. Members answer occasional questions for website visitors through our "Ask an Engineer" program and may also sign up to be contacted by teachers or students for interviews or other service. You must be a woman either working as an engineer or who got her start through an engineering education to join. Just go to the sign-up page to get started.
You can also nominate a friend for the Gallery. If you know of another exceptional woman engineer that would make a great role model for girls, please let us know. Just submit her basic information, and we will take it from there.
Help Score Writing Contest Submissions
The annual EngineerGirl Writing Contest is one of the NAE's primary outreach programs for students. This effort depends upon engineering volunteers to run effectively. For the Writing Contest, we may receive as many as 1,000 or more submissions in a year, and we are in need of volunteers to read and score essays in February and March to select the finalists. Read more information on our volunteer sign up page.
Share your News
Our Engineering in the News blog uses newsworthy engineering projects and achievements to make engineering relevant, relatable, and interesting for middle school girls. We are particularly interesting in stories that showcase the contributions of women and groups traditionally underrepresented in engineering. Stories about research, successful projects, outstanding teams, even giving back to community are all welcome. Please send details and contact information to engineergirl@nae.edu. Posts are written by EngineerGirl staff based on information provided and any needed follow-up. Please do not submit articles that are copyrighted.
