Any item you see has been engineered. Many smells have been engineered and also many of the foods you eat have been engineered.

Biography
My name is Carolyn Begnoche and I work at Collins Aerospace as a Drawing checker. I get to check drawings that other people draw. Some of the parts I can draw are of Airplane Engines. When you sit on an airplane and look out on the wing and you see an engine with a big fan than spins very fast, I get to draw and check drawings that make them. As the Outreach Chair for the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) Hartford section since 2012. I teach and do STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) activities with grades K-12 and all levels of Brownies and Girl scouts. I am also a very active member of: Women in Aviation International (WAI). We teach young women about Aerospace and that there are no limits on what a person can do. I am a FIRST robotics Judge for the New England District (Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Vermont and Maine). Students compete their robots for first, second and third place. This competition is held at Hartford high school in Hartford CT each year. I am also a Connecticut Invention Convention Judge through Pratt and Whitney and SWE: Hundreds of students bring their inventions to UCONN Storrs campus. Pratt and Whitney awards top three for best use of Power, and SWE gives four top SWENext awards for design and innovation.
