What I Do I manage a team that designs and provides engineering support for fuel controls and actuation systems.
Why Engineering? I enjoy problem solving and working with a team of dedicated and interested technical people.
School Days I attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign for my undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering. During my time there, I studied abroad for a semester at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and I highly recommend doing a study abroad experience. Afterwards, I got my Masters of Mechanical Engineering from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech).
My Day At Work I support design reviews, provide customer and executive updates, drive engineering investigations, and support and mentor my team. I also drive the team to think of better, more efficient ways of doing our jobs.
Best Part The best part of engineering is when you struggle with solving a problem and then get that 'aha' moment when you finally figure it out. I love helping other engineers develop their own careers.
My Family My husband works as a data scientist at Collins and we have two young daughters, a preschooler and a toddler.
Hobbies I like reading, hiking, cooking, eating out, and playing casual games on my Nintendo Switch. I used to read a lot of fiction: Redwall, Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, but now I'm reading more non fiction.
