Biography
“Everyone can do something amazing. It’s a leader’s job to not get in their way. Anita Riddle’s seven years of military leadership in Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Transportation were a jump-start to her career with ExxonMobil. Upon leaving active duty, she started at the Beaumont Refinery in Texas as a Process Engineer. It provided challenging engineering projects requiring teamwork with Process and Maintenance staff. Throughout her career, ExxonMobil has capitalized on Anita’s skills and interests. Drawing on experience with engineering problem solving, leadership, and a love of data, Anita is known as one of the chief innovators. “My father once told me, ‘Don’t go to work to get ahead. Go to get the work done extremely well, and a great career will follow.’ I truly believe that, and I pass that advice along to the people I mentor.” For Anita, success is about recognizing that everyone has the ability to contribute something great that advances the company in some way. She also believes that once the company recognizes how you best apply your skills and passions, you’ll be given work that you absolutely love to do plus the resources and autonomy to make a real difference in the company and in the world. “Life isn’t about you. It’s about what you give.” - Cornell University, BS in Chemical Engineering - Lamar University, Master of Engineering Management - Lamar University, Doctor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering - Married with two children - Trustee, Board of Lamar University Foundation - Advisory Council Member, Lamar University College of Engineering
