Biography
Summer earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering from Wichita State University in 2003. Summer then moved to Houston, TX to fulfill her dream of being a part of the United States' space program. From 2005 to 2007, she had a part-time job as a Houston Texans Cheerleader in addition to her full-time engineering job at NASA. Summer is currently a Science Cheerleader, one of more than 200 former and current professional cheerleaders who are also engineers and scientists encouraging the involvement of girls in science, technology, engineering and mathematics throughout the nation. She enjoys working, dancing, traveling, running, volunteering with organizations that empower young women, pageantry and speaking engagements.
