Jessica Dale AddedThursday, May 3, 2018 at 1:26 PM What types of things would an architectural engineer do? And what types of subjects would I study in high school to prepare for college in order to be one? I’m 15 and I’ve always wanted to be an engineer or architect but architectural engineering really interests me, I need to start picking my subjects in school that would help me to get into the course I want, what ones should I think of and how would I go about it? Mechanical drawing is also recommended. Architectural engineers can be involved in building envelope systems or a variety of structures. I studied architectural engineering however I concentrated in structural engineering and have worked on buildings, bridges, residential homes, as well as various infrastructure/transportation related designs. For architectural engineering it is strongly recommended that you have a very strong math background as well as art. Good luck!
