What kind of degree can I have if I've worked in the telecommunications field for 6yrs.

Climb cell phone tower, install carrier equipment (AT&T, Sprint, Verizon, T-Mobile) push software, run power and fiber, sweep coax, fiber test, fiber scope, install microwave dishes.

Hi, Beto! If you have enjoyed working with cell towers and would like to work towards a degree that would allow you to stay in the field, you could consider a few different options.
1.) Engineering Technology - This degree could prepare you to work as a network technician. Instead of climbing towers or doing equipment installations, you would shift your focus more to making and keeping the cell sites operational.
2.) Electrical Engineering - If you are more interested in designing the telecommunications equipment or coming up with the network designs that help to decide where cell towers need to go, this degree could help you obtain a position with an equipment manufacturer or with one of the major cellular network providers.
3.) Mathematics or Physics - A degree in math or physics along with your experience working in the industry could help you to land a technician or engineering position with one of the major cellular network providers.
Other paths to pursue would include project management or construction engineering. The important thing is to choose a program and get started. There are many opportunities awaiting you once you have completed your degree. All the best on your pursuit!
