It would just depend on their focus. Technology and careers today tend to blend and overlap and ultimately it is really dependent on the type of work you are hoping to do. Most job titles narrow down the role of a job. For example, a software engineer will work on software solutions to complex problems. While a hardware engineer would focus on hardware solutions to complex problems. And then a blend of the two would be something like an Embedded Software engineer, which would be someone who works on software down at the hardware level. And all of these roles could be filled by a person who majored in computer engineering, computer science, and even electrical engineering. What really matters is working hard and trying out many different applications of the skills and talents you will gain from your degree. I hope this helps.
