I would like to study further but I have an engineering degree in mind, Industrial Engineering. How can I possibly do this? I do not have a High School Science background. I do not have a engineering background either? Reset Sort By Default Priscilla Bennett , Spire Answered Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at 10:53 AM Hello! Most definitely consider an Industrial Engineering degree, if you have an interest in logistics, project management, process management, manufacturing and other related IE fields. I have my Masters in IE, which has opened up a variety of job opportunities for me over the years (Manufacturing, 5S Projects, Project Management, IT, Project Engineering, Continuous Improvement - to name a few). Investment Management is a great background to have because you would bring with you a valuable financial perspective that is oh so valued in any project work (which is what most companies lean toward in their every day work and with any improvements, changes and/or upgrades and refreshes to processes). You most definitely do not need to worry about having a high school Science background nor and engineering background to pursue the degree - Industrial Engineering is heavy on the logistics and manufacturing side and any courses you need to graduate should not be so extensive that they delay your graduation plans drastically. I believe you will find the degree fun, versatile and valuable to employers as you look to your future. I originally sought a Chemical Engineering degree, but quickly learned the IE degree was much more appealing given the interaction with people, products, planning, organizing and constantly looking for efficient methods and solutions. I hope this helps a little. If you have further questions, please don't hesitate to send them in and I'm wishing you GREAT success with your college degrees and career in the future and congratulations on your Honors status...you sound like you are doing great!
