Why did you choose this job/career

Hi,
My decision to pursue a career in power systems was a continuous process. I hail from a city situated on the banks of Brahmaputra, one of the major river systems of India. Its large untapped hydropower potential (41.55 percent of the total hydropower potential of the country) could fulfill the major water and power requirements of the country, unfortunately remain unrealized due to lack of scientific and economic data. With nearly 40% transmission and distribution losses the electricity sector of the region and its improvement assumes utmost urgency. This led in me a growing interest towards the field of generation and consumption of energy. I realized that by pursuing higher studies in power system I will be able to incorporate the learning into a real-world application and actually contribute towards an efficient power system network.
