Is it still worthwhile pursuing civil engineering? Related to Civil Reset Sort By Default Elizabeth Schlegel , KSN Inc. Answered Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at 2:46 PM It is very worthwhile to pursue engineering if you are not "artistically creative", because the creativity you need is for problem solving. The creative side of civil engineering is similar to solving a math or physics problem. You have a set of parameters you have to work within, and you have to apply your knowledge to determine what the "most correct" solution is, even though there are many "correct" ways that you can solve the problem you are designing to address. I cannot draw with a pencil to save my life, but I draw my solutions in CAD, which lets me use a variety of tools to create a picture of what I am conveying to a contractor. If you are good at figuring out how to approach a math or physics problem to find the simplest way to get to the solution, you are creative in the way needed for civil engineering.
