Emma, Hoover, AL AddedWednesday, December 9, 2015 at 9:29 PM things to do to become a great engineer Hi, I'm a high school sophomore but I would like some help finding out about different (summer?) programs that I should look into in order to get on the path to Aerospace engineering. Some things I've done already: 1. I am currently looking at: Lipscomb, Vanderbilt, Auburn, Tennessee Tech, Virginia Tech, Rose Hulman, Cedarville, Central Florida, Mississippi State, Texas A&M, and possibly more. 2. I have toured Lipscomb, Vanderbilt, and Auburn so far. 3. I was part of Alabama power's Girls in Engineering program. 4.I have been a part of the International Baccalaureate program at my high school for the past 2 years. 5. I have been in my schools Engineering Academy classes for the past two years. This has taught me about: Solid works, data analysis, material property testing, method of joints, communication through writing, presenting, and much more. Right now I am trying to learn more about the different colleges that I am interested in, and what programs they offer for high schools students. I just wanted some advice from the professionals on what I should be doing to further advance my progress toward my goals (summer programs, specific colleges to look into,etc.). Thank you so much! Answered Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at 9:29 PM I am not well versed in Aerospace Engineering, but my understanding is NASA may offer summer camps. I would recommend you contact the Human Resources Department at NASA. They would be a very good source regarding preparation for Aerospace Engineering.
