As a kid, I liked to play with legos, re-break and make stuff, help my grand father in the yard and learn about how stuff works. I therefore decided to pursue an undergrad in Mechanical Engineering as it allowed me to follow this passion. However, during my four years in school, I learnt not only about how Machines work, but also developed skills in critical thinking and analytical problem solving. I also realized how engineers can use their knowledge and problem solving skills to create and improve things, and therefore make a difference to people's life. Currently my job in the oil and gas industry allows me to design more efficient tools, so that we can minimize the impact of oil drilling on the environment. I now know that I wanted to be an engineer not only because I liked working with machines, but also because I loved solving problems.
