Yetunde, Sheffield AddedWednesday, May 27, 2015 at 9:22 AM How do you know if engineering is for you? Hi, I'm 16 and have thought about engineering as a possible career choice. It seemed like a suitable career, maths and the sciences are my favourite subjects and being involved in the process of developing ideas that mould the future is the description for my ideal job. However, once researching how others got into the field I feel as though I'm out of my breadth- many talk about making things and using structural toys when they were younger and other many achievements that I haven't done or feel like I can't accomplish. Therefore, how do you know if engineering is for you? What do you think is essential for a good engineer? (both educational requirements and personality traits) And finally how do I create the best opportunities for myself to get the appropriate degree in university and prepare myself for an engineering work place? Thank you. Some of them are Industrial & System, Electrical, Chemical, Civil, Environmental, Biomedical, Nuclear, Bioengineering, and Computer. Educational Requirements: A strong foundation in the math and sciences. It is also helpful to have go oral and written communication I believe good engineers are really strong at problem solving and they do not mind trying different tools to get to an expected. No matter what discipline you choose you have the opportunity to go across the world and work for any number of companies. I hope this helps. Much success to you in your future endeavors. Jessye
