I know how to do mathematical problems, but I never remember the names of them. Is that okay for being an engineer?

Math so far has become easy to me it’s easy to learn and easy to master. I know how to do the problems but I can never remember the names. I want to become an electrical/robotic engineer. Is it crucial to know the names of the problems?

Hi Abbey,

Actually names of problems are not really important and, in fact, most mathematical problems don't have particular names so I would not worry about that. What is important to be a successful engineer of any type is your ability to understand problems and to solve them. And keep an open mind - as time goes on you will have opportunities to be exposed to more and more different types of engineering disciplines and you may find one that truly becomes your passion! I started my education as a mathematics student, then discovered electrical engineering and got a Master's degree in that field and then moved on to Computer Science and got a PhD, and now do research in Software Engineering. The more you learn, the more exciting you will find the field!
