Ms. Schlegel,I'm doing a project on civil engineers, and wanted to ask you a few questions.what does your schedule look like? what kinds of tools do you use? What is your fave project you have done?

I normally work 40 to 45 hours a week as a private consultant, but as a mom, I have a schedule that gives me some flexibility if I need to arrive late/stay late.  I use AutoCAD Civil 3D to design my projects, Microsoft Word to write technical specifications and reports, Microsoft Excel to work through calculations to support my designs, Microsoft Project to keep my projects on schedule, and a few other tools (Newforma, Ajera) for file and budget management.
My favorite project so far has been the Mule Creek Infill Complex, which was a lot like designing a small new city (it was a state men's prison).  We designed the sewer, water, storm drain, gas, and fire water utilities, graded the entire project (73+ acres) so that it was wheelchair/handicap accessible, and made sure that no one could escape through our pipes.  If you look it up online, you can find pictures, because it has won several awards.
