Alexis Brooks asked Andromeda DuMont, CH2M / Jacobs Added Thursday, January 21, 2021 at 10:29 PM Can I get a job in the water field without doing all the water electives offered at my university? I am a fourth year civil engineering major, with one semester left. I love water. I am worried that if I don't take all the water electives, that I will not be able to find a job in the water field when I finish. For example, do I need to take hydraulic structures analysis and design in order to work in the field of water when I graduate? Answers 0

Ace Reave asked Andromeda DuMont, CH2M / Jacobs Added Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at 3:48 PM Did you ever doubt yourself when becoming an engineer? How and what do you do as water resource engineer when you are mainly outside? I thought most engineers work in factories or in their own businesses. I am a student from a school in Maryland where our project is an interview with an engineer. I decided to chose you because this was an engineer type that I have never heard of so I wanted to ask a couple of question about what you have done as this engineer and what happened on your way to becoming this engineer. Answers 1 Andromeda DuMont, CH2M / Jacobs Answered Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at 8:19 AM I do many different sorts of projects, including ones that require field work or traveling. Because I have a background in hydrogeology, my field work typically consists of drilling or sampling activities. This means I will hang out with a water supply ...

Melissa asked Andromeda DuMont, CH2M / Jacobs Added Monday, September 3, 2018 at 10:22 PM Math is a major struggle for me, still possible to become an engineer? So I am 24 years old and I decided to go back to college about 3-ish years ago, and finally transitioned into being a full time student. I am starting calc this semester and I am having a rough time. In high school I pretty much failed all my math classes but so far I am doing well in college, (All A's) but this semester is a little more difficult for me and I'm scared I won't make it through Calc since it is all stuff I have never seen before. I work extremely hard but it takes a while for me ... Answers 1 Andromeda DuMont, CH2M / Jacobs Answered Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at 10:14 PM I totally understand! Even people who are "good at math" struggle with calculus the first time they see it. And understandably... limits and derivatives are so foreign to all the other types of math you've studied up until now. I struggled with Calc I ...
