Kinsley asked Kim Wheeler, Abbott AddedTuesday, April 18, 2017 at 4:58 PM Hi Kim, I was wondering if you did the college program or did you get an internship the first time you applied? How hard is it to get an internship with Disney? I was fortunate where I did not participate in the college program and was able to get an internship the first time I applied. That being said, I had a lot of previous relevant internship experience (in the engineering field) as well as experience with Solid works, the modelling software that Disney uses. I think that made me a stand out candidate. That being said, if you are able to be flexible and start an internship in January as opposed to the summer like I did, there are a lot less people applying for that time period. Also the GPA requirement is a MUST meet. If you cant get an internship the first time around, a lot of people come to Disney in the college program and network their way around. There are also classes and events people can participate in to get to know what engineering at Disney is like. Hope this helps! Good luck! Kim
