If you focus on areas such as communications, signal processing, and control, these areas emphasize mathematics at a considerable depth. In some universities the electrical engineering courses in these areas cover topics taught typically in applied math programs in math departments, while in some other universities these topics are taught at an engineering level with more emphasis on applications and less mathematical abstraction. So, it depends on the university you choose for your higher education. One good approach for you could be to study electrical engineering for your major and complete a minor in mathematics. Best, Rose
