Can anyone tell me about their experiences as an engineering student in college? Did you have time for hobbies? How many hours of studying did you do daily? Was is worth it? I remembered my very first electrical engineering class was a three hour class every wednesday. I remembered feeling so behind in class because it seemed like every new lesson that my professor taught, it would take me forever to learn. So, what I did was make friends with people in class and participate in study groups. These same friends that I made in class, I took other classes with. This honestly made the engineering classes that I took bearable. I would say that I've spent about 8-10 hours a day (with breaks) to study for my classes. My plan was to study very hard on the weekdays and have some time to relax on the weekend. But sometimes this schedule doesn't always follow through because of exams and projects. I love to play volleyball but this semester, I had to stop playing for a while because I didn't have much time (it was my last semester so I wanted to pass all of my classes so I can graduate). But that's okay because I know I can always go back and play volleyball again once school is done. In college, I was given the opportunity to take classes that I was interested in and I was able to make life long friends. Engineering has opened a lot of doors to me in terms of job opportunities. I was able to find a full time job in the field that I'm interested in. Next month, I will start my new journey as an electrical engineer. There will be times that you would question why you're taking engineering as a major, but you have to remember that at the end of it all, it will be worth it. Best of luck to you! Abby
