Can you tell me which field of engineering relates more to the business side of things, like if I am interested in a management position after, which field of engineering is most promising Related to Choosing a Degree, Graduate School Reset Sort By Default Jocelyn Cole , Penny Hydraulics Ltd Answered Sunday, December 11, 2016 at 7:53 AM I would say that most fields on engineering can progress to a management position, so in terms of which disciple of engineering it’s really more a case of what interests you the most. I studied Mechanical Engineering and there’s quite a lot of project management in this, which is something I really enjoy – this gives you exposure to a lot of different skills, like costing, personnel management, time management etc... By being a mechanical engineer this is a really broad knowledge base from which you can progress in many different ways. I went to study Industrial Management, which was heavily involved in business processes, which you may also find interested. This involves looking at how emerging technologies can be employed to improve a company, where this be some kind of software to improve the business processes, or new technologies in the workshops to assist manufacturing processes. If there are any follow up questions please do not hesitate to contact me. Kind regards, Jocelyn
