Biography
April Blackwell is an Aerospace Engineer who works at NASA as an ISS Attitude Determination and Control Officer in Mission Control. April has been with NASA for 7 years, but has been passionate about space since kindergarten! In her aerospace career, April has flown more than 250 hours in experimental Army aircraft as a Flight Test Engineer, and passed qualifications in the Army Special Operations helicopter dunker program, altitude chamber and parachute course. She has also gained industry experience through internships at Boeing and Orbital Sciences Corp. Since NASA flight controller certification she has acquired more than 2600 console hours in mission control, responsible for the ISS’s motion control system.
