  • Why Engineering?

I chose engineering because I really enjoyed math and physics and solving problems when I was in high school. I decided to major in mechanical engineering since I wasn't really sure what I wanted to do and liked that mechanical engineering covered a lot of different disciplines.

  • School Days

I have a bachelor's of mechanical engineering and MBA from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. I was on campus for my bachelor's degree and obtained my master's degree online while working full time.

  • My Family

My husband (also an engineer) and I recently became parents to our son who was born in March 2021! We also have a pitbull/ mastiff dog who loves to cuddle.

Biography
I graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. During my undergrad, I interned at Gulfstream Aerospace in Savannah, GA in the Quality Assurance Department. After graduation, I took a job in the Verizon Leadership Development Program. This was not a job that was in my mechanical engineering discipline but was still in the engineering field and allowed me to travel and do a different job each year for four years. In the program, I had rotations as a System Performance Engineer in Little Rock, AR, a Project Manager in Basking Ridge, NJ, an Implementation Engineer in Charlotte, NC and an Operations Supervisor outside Philadelphia, PA. After the program, I took a role as a Small Cell Equipment Engineer in New Jersey. I then took a role on the 5G Ecosystem Team managing various ecosystems where we are trying to find use cases for 5G. After that role, I become the Chief of Staff to our Chief Technology Officer (CTO) which was really a jack of all trades role and allowed me to get a broader picture of the network and technology side of Verizon. I am now an Associate Director on our Core Equipment Engineering team. I have an M.B.A from the University of Massachusetts Amherst which I completed through Verizon's tuition reimbursement program.
