An idea for CO2 sequestration

I had an idea about CO2 sequestration. Would it be feasible to make dry ice blocks using solar and/or wind generated electricity and then dumping them in the Marianas trench where the cold and pressure would keep them frozen?

    Hi Curtis,

I don't have the environmental background to really tell you about all the challenges that might go along with this, but the Marianas Trench is part of a protected marine national monument.  It is unlikely that using it as a waste dump would be something that would or should be done lightly.
