I have a half sleeve on my forearm and I've tried to look up any articles on the subject but I don't find anything very helpful. As you say, it might depend on the employer but there are certainly people in my company who have tattoos and it does not make any difference to them doing their job or their prospects. Given your tattoo is on your arm, if you are nervous about it, wearing long sleeves would cover it anyway.
