What I Do I am an Area Manager in Field Operations with a team made up of 6 Local Managers and 125 technicians across South Eastern Massachusetts including all of Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard, and Nantucket. My teams is responsible for the Installation and Maintenance of our FiOS services and traditional copper phone lines, as well as constructing the fiber backbone for the FiOS network and cell sites.
Why Engineering? I chose engineering because I always loved solving brain teasers and puzzles that involved critical thinking to find the solution, and engineering allowed me to apply that to real life experiences.
School Days I have BS in Civil Engineering from UMass Amherst and an MBA in Finance from the University of Maryland, College Park.
My Day At Work A majority of my days are spent in the field seeing the jobs my technicians are working on, see what road blocks we are running into. Then coming back to the office to see how we can become more efficient and implement new solutions.
Best Part The best part about being an engineer is that you get to work on something new all of the time and it's never boring.
Want to be an Engineer? Don't let anything stop you from achieving your dreams and never be afraid to ask questions.
