  • What I Do

Currently I'm a Director at Verizon in the Network Capital Management team.  I lead about 25 people and have responsibility for allocating $13B annually to the programs Verizon's network engineering team are building and maintaining.  Prior to this role I've had several different jobs at Verizon, all within our global network and technology department.

  • Why Engineering?

I love math and science and find joy in problem solving!

  • School Days

Syracuse University, BS in Environmental Engineering (2000)
    St. Michael's College, MBA (2006)

  • My Day At Work

Verizon has been my employer since 2000.  I started as an outside plant engineer in Vermont.  That entailed field work, collaboration with the power and cable companies, design work for building fiber, placing utility poles and other necessary infrastructure to build and maintain the Verizon network.

  • Best Part

Problem solving!  It's so much fun when I can use the skills I learned to improve a process to make something faster or better.  I also enjoy seeing what I've designed come to fruition.  Additionally, I love when I can use my engineering skills in my personal life to get creative with fixing something at home or making my garden.

  • Proud Moments

I moved to New Jersey in 2007 and started working on the Verizon FiOS TV engineering team.  We were launching HD channels for the first time and got our network to 100 HD channels before our competitors...it was a huge effort and accomplishment!

  • My Family

I live with my boyfriend in Morristown, NJ.  He's a girls soccer coach and loves to cook!  We enjoy hiking, bike riding and walking to town!  My parents are awesome and have supported me all my life!  My sister is also an engineer and so is her husband!  My brother is an attorney and his wife is an accountant.  They both have children and I love being "Aunt Krista".

  • Inspiration

My family!  My parents worked so hard to be able to send me and my siblings to college!  Their work ethic and support are fantastic and they have been great role models for me my entire life.

  • Want to be an Engineer?

DO IT!!  You won't be disappointed!  Getting an engineering degree will open up so many possibilities in a variety of fields!

  • Hobbies

I love going for hikes, enjoying nature, gardening, yoga, riding my bike, playing golf and spending time with my family.  I also love to read fiction books.
