What I Do I am an Application Engineer for Quest Integration. We sell and support SOLIDWORKS products, 3D printers and 3D scanners.
Why Engineering? I initially went into engineering because I wanted to be a test pilot. I am a Commercial Pilot and a Certified Flight Instructor and flying as a test pilot normally requires an engineering degree. While I was in engineering, my husband and I fell in love with the area we were living and decided shift our focus to engineering completely.
School Days I went to see at Eastern Washington University. I graduated with my Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering with an emphasis in Material Science and Computational Mechanics and a Minor in Manufacturing.
My Day At Work I often teach classes on the functionality of 3D CAD software, SOLIDWORKS and SOLIDWORKS Simulation. I provide technical support to our customers via the phone or email. I also work with 3D printers, namely the FORMLABS SLA printer.
My Family I am married to the love of my life, Chris. He serves in our United States NAVY Reserves and works for our local county. He an I recently built a home together and have enjoyed learning about the process and our land. We love where we live and love gardening and working on our land. We are grateful for what we have a love making memories together.
Want to be an Engineer? Job shadow an engineer. Make sure to spend a day with an engineer doing their everyday job and see if you like it. Job shadow different people in different types of engineering positions, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, biomedical engineering, etc. Lastly, make sure the job market for the degree you are looking into has a good outlook.
Hobbies I LOVE music. I serve in our music worship community at church and love it! I also love to garden and work on our land and our home.
