If you want to do structural engineering or any type of civil engineering, then I'd advise getting a degree in that field. If your degree course gives you options to take construction management or project management modules, then do so. Any job can involve long hours and require considerable dedication, but I don't think that being an architect is more likely to leave you with no free time than being a structural engineer or a project manager in civil engineering. That depends more on who you work for and what projects you're involved with.
To be a good project manager in any field, you need to be highly organized, able to stay calm under pressure, and have good time management skills. Whether you're managing multiple small projects or one or two very large projects, you'll have competing demands on your time and you'll need to be able to prioritize. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with people are also key. Many of these skills take time and work experience to develop, but if you have the basic attributes and enjoy this type of work, you will likely be successful.
Best of luck in whatever you decide to do.
